Green councilor Verena Mayr is concerned about the processes around the loan. According to its information, the municipality used resources from the sewer fees between 2020 and 2022 to pay an open sum of about a quarter of a million euros. The covering of the final loan was not contrary to the needs, which questions the legal framework of the municipal code.

Mayr criticizes that at the municipal council meeting in June he was only informed superficially about the test report and not explained all relevant details. It relies on §87 paragraph 2 of the Styrian municipal code, which states that the mayor must immediately forward the report to the local council in order to advise comprehensive advice.

The situation continues to come to a head, since Mayr and the Greens have now contacted the supervisory authority to check the processes. According to Mayr, it was assured that the report will be made transparent to the citizens for the upcoming municipal council meetings. Mayor Strein, on the other hand, defends himself by saying that there were no major offenses, but only suggestions for improvement on the part of the country.
