Horror threat at the main train station: evacuation after a bomb threat via email

On Monday evening, Graz Central Station was evacuated after a bomb threat was received via email. The all-clear was only given after three hours and no dangerous objects were found. The Styria State Police Department received the email at 7:30 p.m. threatening to detonate explosive devices at the main train station. Extensive protective measures were immediately initiated, which led to the evacuation of both the eastern and main train stations.

Train services were temporarily suspended and some bus and tram routes were affected by the closures. The Ostbahnhof was reopened after about an hour and a half, while the search of the Central Station took longer due to its size and was only completed after three hours.

The investigation into the sender of the threatening email is still ongoing; initial details will not be published for tactical reasons. The police have taken numerous measures to protect the population and monitor the situation.

The evacuation and search of Graz main train station after a bomb threat led to delays in public transport and a large-scale police operation. There is no information yet about who made the threat, but the public's safety was a priority throughout the incident.
