Folkshilfe celebrates a musical journey full of emotions with Bunt”!

On April 17, 2025, the Quetschn pop trio Folkshilfe from Upper Austria will release their new album entitled “Bunt”. How crown reports, this album is a conceptual journey that does not have a fixed concept. Instead, the songs mesh together like gears. The musical influences include 80s pop, squeeze synth pop and folk elements that shape the band's image.

The frontman Florian Ritt explains in a quote: “Life is like a colorful mosaic”. This motto runs through the album's themes, which speak to community, humanity and emotions. Of particular note are the important songs: “Therapy,” an up-tempo song about seeking help and self-love; “Far Away,” which deals with dealing with challenges; “Ohne di,” a tribute to Ritt’s late father that addresses grief and farewell; and “Look at you,” which calls for mindfulness.

Live tour through Austria

Folkshilfe has already released two albums, each of which reached number three in the domestic charts and made them known for their unforgettable live performances. The band will also perform at numerous festivals as part of their tour through Austria, including the Nova Rock Festival on June 13th and the Klassik am Dom in Linz on July 18th. Further dates include the Acoustic Campfire event in Kindberg on August 2nd and concerts in Dornbirn, Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck in October.

The band has also invited prominent guest musicians for their live performances. Paul Pizzera will be featured on the song “Owa vom Gas,” while Avec will be featured on the track “Home/Dahoam.” These collaborations underline the creative diversity of Folkshilfe and their musical vision.

Austrian music scene in focus

The release of “Bunt” comes at a time when the Austrian music scene is vibrant. Many notable artists and albums were celebrated in 2023, such as FM4 highlights. The FM4 Soundpark put together a selection of the 70-80 best songs in the country, including hits from newcomers like Peru Tantan and established artists like AARON. This current diversity is fueling public interest in local music and encouraging many bands to expand their creative boundaries.

The year 2023 was characterized by concerts and musical highlights for the Austrian music scene. The support and collaboration among artists is a key feature that benefits the scene. Bands like Mynth and Culk have released successful albums, while new talents like Uche Yara and Viji present fresh songwriting.

Folkshilfe will remain part of this inspiring musical landscape and share its messages and emotions with a wide audience. Further information about their projects can be found on the band's website: www.folkshilfe.at.
