In Styria, we are currently experiencing a weather game that is typical of the transition from autumn to winter. The nights are cold and bring the first snow with it, which can cause smoothness. During the day, however, the temperatures are often mild and invite you to venture outside. The weather view for the coming days promises some surprises - also for the upcoming election Sunday.
On Thursday, Upper Styria wakes up with dense clouds, which can sometimes bring slight snowfall. Incidentally, the sun greets us, however, before the clouds are condensed in the afternoon in the north. A lively to strong west wind blows in the mountains, which turns to southern winds in the afternoon. The temperatures move in a range from -1 to +7 degrees, whereby the south is noticeably milder.

This is particularly important because freezing rain could cause the streets on the streets. However, Friday itself should be increasingly sunny, even if slight snowfall is still possible in northern areas in the morning. Overall, it stays dry in most areas, while the temperatures fall up to -3 to +4 degrees. So Friday will be the coldest day of the week.
Saturday is still cloudy with some snowfall in Upper Styria. But here, too, the sun will prevail during the day. Before noon, the sky in the southern and eastern regions is much clearer. While only weak winds are blowing in the south, the rest of the parts can be expected with stronger northwest winds that degenerate in the afternoon. Maximum values will reach -1 to +7 degrees, but it will remain cooler at -2 degrees at altitudes of up to 1,500 meters.
A special view applies to Sunday, the day of the state election. According to the current weather forecast, it remains mostly sunny, only occasional thin cloud fields can be seen. The wind weakens noticeably and the temperatures rise to pleasant values from +3 to +10 degrees. In the mountains it even gets milder, at about +8 degrees at heights of 1,500 meters.
These weather transitions and the associated temperature fluctuations are not atypical for Styria this season. While the cold can be a challenge, the sunshine also brings an invitation to enjoy the fresh air. It remains to be seen how the weather situation will develop and whether the announced temperatures will give people in the region.
