New car sharing at Bruck am Mur station: flexible for passengers!

On September 26, 2024, a new location for the car sharing offer ÖBB Rail & Drive at the Bruck station opened. Here visitors now have the opportunity to rent different vehicles of all kinds flexibly. With a current fleet of eleven vehicles, including seven Seat Leon, three Seat Leon Kombi and a Seat Ateca, users can get from the train station to their destination without much effort.

The offer enlivens the mobility concept in the region and fits into a broader expansion strategy. With Bruck an der Mur, the car sharing is now available at 50 locations in 38 cities across Austria. The fleet comprises a total of around 400 vehicles, and there are already other locations in Kapfenberg and Mürzzuschlag in preparation. The offer is growing in particular in Styria, where a total of nine Rail & Drive locations are now available.

growth in e-mobility

A future-oriented aspect of the car sharing program is the integration of e-vehicles. At 26 locations in Austria, including the new location in Bruck an der Mur, there are electric charging stations that support a total of 59 electric vehicles. Particularly noteworthy is the trend towards e-mobility, which also continues in Styria. Places such as the main train stations in Graz and Leoben as well as the new location Graz Lendkai also have electric vehicles available for booking.

simple booking process

Another advantage of the ÖBB Rail & Drive Services is uncomplicated registration. Interested parties can register via the Wegfinder app or the website RailandDrive.at. After a digital check of the necessary documents such as a driver's license and payment method, the Rail & Drive account is activated. From this point on, customers will be able to start rental immediately. The billing takes place transparently on the basis of an uncomplicated time and kilometer tariff.

The introduction of the Carsharing service at the Bruck station on the Mur station represents an important step towards sustainable urban mobility. According to information from www.5min.at , this is not only a profit for travelers, but also increases the efforts to make environmentally friendly traffic strategies in the region.
