Handmade Christmas delights: Lebenshilfe Advent markets in Linz

There will be a very special event in Linz this year that will increase the anticipation of Christmas even further: Lebenshilfe Oberösterreich is organizing two Advent markets. These will take place on November 28th and 29th in various Lebenshilfe workshops.

The workshops in which people with intellectual disabilities work have made various products with great dedication over the past few months. These include nativity scenes, handmade candles, festive Advent wreaths, leather goods and even delicious liqueurs and jams. The range is supplemented by Christmas pendants, Christmas tree decorations and many lovingly designed decorative items.

Details about the markets

The first Advent market will take place on Thursday, November 28th, in the Lebenshilfe workshop at Klausenbachstrasse 46. It will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is the first large Advent market organized by this workshop. The suggestion came directly from the employees, and they are organizing the event themselves. A comprehensive musical supporting program is offered to visitors, and their physical well-being is also taken care of. Punch, Christmas cookies, non-alcoholic drinks, baked potatoes and tasty goulash soup are available.

The next market will take place on Friday, November 29th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Lebenshilfe workshop at Salzburgerstraße 28. Here visitors can also discover a variety of handcrafted products. For the guests' physical well-being, there is punch, mulled wine, bratwurst, fries and traditional farmer's doughnuts. Important to note: The Advent market on Salzburgerstrasse is canceled if it rains.

These markets not only offer workshop residents the opportunity to showcase their creative products, but they also promote awareness of the skills and talents of people with disabilities. It's a nice way to enjoy the run-up to Christmas while providing meaningful support. If you want to experience a festive atmosphere in the coming weeks, you shouldn't miss these events.
