An innocent sales campaign on an online platform ended tragically for a Linz woman: she was the victim of a perfidious phishing attack. The woman only wanted to sell her son's clothes that had become too small over "Vinted". An alleged buyer asked for a video of a T-shirt to ensure that it was not fitted. Since uploading the video in the app was not possible, the Linzer sent the video to a given mobile phone number. The confirmation was a link that led the woman to a deceptively real -looking bank website. There she indicated her bank details without realizing that it was a fake side. The shock came when she noticed debit in her account that she had not prompted. The bank immediately reacted, blocked her credit card and alerted it. In the meantime, however, around 8,000 euros had already been debited from their account. According to the Upper Austria Chamber of Labor (AK OÖ), the credit card company had to refund these unauthorized payments, since the Linzer had no such comparison, the Krone .
