Braunau is preparing for an emergency: successful blackout exercise!
Last Saturday, November 23, over 200 people gathered in the city of Braunau for a comprehensive blackout exercise. This all -day event had a clear goal: the preparation of all organizations and emergency services involved for possible scenarios of a power failure or other disasters. The exercise served to test the cooperation and coordination between the different places.
Among the participants were many important players, such as the city's four volunteer fire brigades, the Red Cross and the police. These organizations simulated various critical missions, including medical care, fire fighting and intervention in traffic accidents. Other topics were the maintenance of water disposal and wastewater disposal and the information of the population in crisis situations. Problems that occurred on the so -called self -help bases were also realistically tested.

Abi Klaus Litzlbauer, commander of the Braunau volunteer fire brigade, was positive after the exercise: "This exercise showed us that the many work that was done in the background in recent months was important and correct. We can proudly say that our ideas work and that we can ensure the best possible support for our population." He emphasized that it was now also important to inform the citizens of Braunau about the need for preparatory measures for possible crisis scenarios.
The exercise was a resounding success and illustrated the essential importance of careful preparation and the strength of the cooperation between the various organizations. Thanks to the practical experience, weaknesses were identified and valuable knowledge for future disaster scenarios were gained. The unity and operational readiness of the participants in emergency situations were particularly emphasized, which is of the greatest relevance for the safety of the population.
Mayor Mag. Johannes Waidbacher was confident about the development of an extensive blackout concept, which has now been tested in practice. "I am convinced that we are prepared for various scenarios. My thanks go to everyone involved who have contributed to the success of our Black-out large exercise," said Waidbacher.
The exercise in Braunau is an important step in order to be able to offer citizens in times of critical events. It has shown that preparation for the emergency is comprehensively and well thought out, which presents everyone involved with possible challenges in the future.
