David R., a 21-year-old forest worker, died after serious injuries that he suffered in a forest accident. The news of his death triggered great dismay not only in his family, but also in the local football club, the WSV Oed/Waldegg.

The accident occurred on November 11th when David R. was busy with restrictions in the forest. According to reports, it was hit on the back by a falling beech, the trunk of which had a diameter of 40 cm. Since he was unavailable until noon and relatives were concerned, he was searched for. Tragically, he was found seriously injured under the fallen tree. The volunteer fire brigade provided first aid and brought him to the Wiener Neustadt University Clinic with an emergency doctor, where he died a few days later.
