Semmering tourism schools: Students rock the ÖHV video competition!
The Austrian Hotel Association (ÖHV) has once again held its video competition for school students who are completing a compulsory internship in the catering and hotel industry in the summer. This year, the talented students from the Semmering tourism schools particularly stood out and took the first two places.
Marcell Tarnoki, a second-year student, documented his first internship at the Winkler pastry shop on Lake Wolfgangsee. He presented his unique experiences in an impressive video, which made a lasting impression on the jury and ultimately secured first place. At the award ceremony, Kristin Oberweger from the ÖHV expressed her recognition.

Tobias Baierling, a third-year student, also appeared with an excellent video that reflected his internship at the Hotel Alpenhaus in Kaprun. His friendly and creative approach was rewarded and he took second place. The two students not only received praise for their creative achievements, but also prizes that recognized their efforts.
First place brought Marcell Tarnoki a new cell phone, while Tobias Baierling was able to look forward to a stay at the St. Martins-Therme in Seewinkel. The joy of receiving the prizes was clear to see on both participants’ faces. Director Jürgen Kürner expressed his pride in his students' achievements: "It's a great thing that our students took the first two places. What's even more important is that they returned from their internships with positive experiences, which they used creatively in their videos."
The videos of the two award winners are available on the official ÖHV homepage and on the Instagram page of the Semmering Tourism Schools, where those interested can admire the students' creative work.
This initiative not only promotes creative talent, but also the practical application of learned skills in real work environments. Such competitions can motivate students to reflect on their experiences and share what is meaningful to their personal and professional development.
