Predatory attack in Völklingen: man attacked and injured
A 54-year-old man was victims of a brutal raid in the city center of Völklingen early Saturday morning. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. when the man was on his way to the train station and had to enter a bank shortly beforehand to withdraw cash. After leaving the bank, he was persecuted by a much younger man and aggressive for money. The perpetrator vehemently asked for money and finally snatched his wallet for the 54-year-old.
The attack did not give up without a fight. He only confronted the attacker a short time later near the underpass on the Globus. In a violent handmade, however, he was depressed by several strokes and kicks. The robber was given the cash from the wallet and fled towards the train station. The injuries of the injured party were so serious that he had to be admitted to a hospital.

The alarmed investigators from the Völklingen police inspection were able to arrest the 19-year-old perpetrator a short time after the attack. When searching the arrested, the prey was discovered and secured. It also turned out that the young man was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics. At the order of the investigative judge, he was taken from a blood sample to determine the guilt.
Although the perpetrator was initially taken into account, the police had to release him again on Saturday afternoon. The 19-year-old was able to demonstrate a permanent residence in North Rhine-Westphalia, which the reasons were for custody. Nevertheless, an investigation due to predatory theft and dangerous bodily harm was initiated against him.
