Farewell and honor: Neunkirchner headmaster is retiring

On the last day of school before the autumn holidays, a special appointment in the calendar, the students, colleagues and friends of Oberschulrat Wolfgang Sonnleitner said goodbye, who worked as director of the Neunkirchner middle school for many years. In an emotional ceremony in the festive hall of his school, the school community mobilized its gratitude and recognition for his tireless efforts in education.

Wolfgang Sonnleitner began his educational path to Matura am Borg in Wiener Neustadt in 1981. He then visited the Pedagogical Academy in Baden, where he passed the teaching exam for German and biology in 1984. Later he also acquired a supplementary examination in computer science in order to further expand his skills as a teacher and to take into account the changing needs at school.

The farewell made it possible to honor the defining moments of his leadership. In numerous speeches, his passion for education was pointed out and how much he campaigned for students and teachers to learn and teach in a positive environment.

Sonnleitner's commitment was also recognized by the awarding of the golden badge of honor, a sign of his merits in the field of education and its sustainable effectiveness at the school. The presence of colleagues and former students underlined the high respect that they brought him towards him. The atmosphere was both solemnly and melancholic, since saying goodbye to such an estimated personality was not easy.
