New walking and cycle path opened in Guntramsdorf- security for everyone!

In Guntramsdorf, the new walking and cycle path along the state road B17 was officially opened. The project, which started last year, includes a continuous connection between the municipal center in Wiener Neudorf and Oceanstrasse. The approximately 470 meter long path improves security for cyclists and pedestrians considerably, since the B17 in this area records up to 24,000 vehicles every day. State Councilor Christoph Luisser and other representatives of the municipalities celebrated the release of the path, which is equipped with a width of three meters and leads via a special protective strip to the B17 road, as apaotot reported.

The construction work for this path was carried out by the company Ing. Dispute over a period of around five months and cost a total of around 820,000 euros, with 60 percent of the state of Lower Austria and 40 percent by the Guntramsdorf market town. The new connections are part of a more comprehensive plan to create a more environmentally friendly transport network in the region, such as nön.at emphasized. Another walking and cycle path project between Mödlingerstraße and Klingerstrasse is already being planned and should also be funded.
