Ceremonial benefit shooting in Mistelbach: 450 years of the shooting club

Mistelbach: The shooting club Mistelbach, which looks back on a long tradition until 1574, recently organized an open house. This Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the club not only opened its doors for interested visitors, but also offered a benefit shooting in favor of the flood victims in the Mistelbach district.

hundreds of enthusiastic rifle lovers from all over the Weinviertel and even came from Vienna to experience the fascination of shooting sports up close. They had the opportunity to shoot with different weapons - from air rifles and air pressure pistols to large -caliber rifles and shotguns. The aim was to offer visitors an exciting experience and to present shooting sports in all its facets.

Various offer and prominent visitors

In order to offer the best prerequisites to the interested parties, numerous stands were prepared: there were eight air pressure stands, several 100m stands, the "running boar" as well as stands for fist fire weapons and throwing discs. Experienced trainers were available to assist the participants when shooting.

Among the numerous guests were also members of the city administration, such as Member of the Landtag Kurt Hackl and City Councilor Claudia Pfeffer. Many representatives of the neighboring communities, the police, as well as doctors and numerous local entrepreneurs also paid a visit to the shooting club. This was how a colorful mixed audience was created who enjoyed the sociable atmosphere and made a good basis for a good cause.

A donation glass was placed at each station, and the visitors were cordially invited to donate for the flood victims. The amounts collected during the benefit shooting are increased by the shooting club and will later be handed over to those affected. Chief Rifle Master Josef Kohzina announced that the donations are still reported separately.

A special highlight of the day was the honor disc, on which every shooter could immortalize himself who wanted to take part in the 100m ball position and announce its name. This disc is designed by the talented artist Anita Bierbaum, who personally participated in the event. It is a nice gesture to symbolize the connection of the community with the donors and supporters.

Interested parties can learn more about past and future events

For the numerous visitors, the day was not only an opportunity to try out shooting sports, but also a sign of solidarity and support for the region's flood victims. The event illustrated how important social commitment and community cohesion are.
