Fairytale Advent celebration in Gobelsburg: Donation for the young group!

On the first Sunday in Advent, an atmospheric parish Café took place in the baker's house in Gobelsburg, which attracted many visitors. The parish of Gobelsburg, known for its turbulent activities and its lively community, offered a variety of delicacies that could be enjoyed both indoors and outdoors. During this festive event, the Lower Austrian employee association of the Volks Party (ÖVP-NÖAAB) handed over a donation of 343.41 euros to Rainer Stöckl, the head of the Catholic Jungschar Gobelsburg. This donation was collected as part of the traditional Agape for the Thanksgiving Festival, which was organized by the ÖVP-NÖAAB Gobelsburg-Zeiselberg, reports Meinzirk.at.

The history of the parish church

The parish church of Gobelsburg, which was first mentioned in 1219, is an important architectural gem in the municipality of Langenlois, Krems-Land district. It is consecrated to the Festival Mariä birth and belongs to the Deanery of Krems in the diocese of St. Pölten. With her baroque Gothic architecture and the magnificent west tower, she is a listed building. The church, which has been incorporated to the Zwettl Abbey since 1746, is not only used for religious ceremonies, but also for cultural events, such as the recently taken advent activities, which are both young and old, as is documented in Wikipedia. Current highlights are the children's Christmas end on December 24th and the expected Sternsinger campaign 2025, which ensures anticipation for the children.

The parish of Gobelsburg, which currently looks after about twenty children and adolescents, including nine altar servers, is known for their wide commitment all year round. The combination of a non -profit donation and lively celebrations such as the parish café shows how the community comes together to both support and celebrate.
