New impetus for the opera in Gars: Andrea Michalec elected as chairwoman
ESignificant change has taken place at the “Association for the Promotion of the Gars Castle & Opera”. After almost ten successful years, Julius Kiennast, the long-time chairman, has resigned from his position. The new leader is the lawyer Andrea Michalec, whose election was unanimously supported by the association's more than a hundred members. Kiennast looks back on his time with satisfaction and is handing over responsibility to good hands.
The association pursues the important task of not only promoting the Burg Gars Opera through targeted marketing activities, but also actively contributing to the cultural life of the region. Kiennast explained that the association represents an emotional platform for citizens to create positive feelings about the opera. “We are very proud of the opera and the wide range of events in Gars,” he emphasized.
New paths and perspectives
However, Kiennast will remain with the club in a different role and will continue to contribute his energy and ideas. Together with Michalec and the other board members, including Gerald Steindl and Sabine Danzinger, he will continue to support and promote the opera's diverse programs.
The new chairwoman Andrea Michalec brings a breath of fresh air and has already announced that she will continue Kiennast's good work and start new initiatives. “It is important to me that we continue to intensify contact with the population and raise awareness of the opera even more,” she explained after her election.
The association itself is an important player in the cultural life of Gars and ensures that the many events at the castle can continue to be held in the future. The commitment of the members and their passion for opera play a central role. How the club will develop under the new leadership remains to be seen, but the anticipation for new projects and collaborations is palpable.
