Parent-child afternoon in Weitersfeld: experience exercise with joy!

As part of the “Moving Class” initiative, Weitersfeld Elementary School shows how important and enriching conscious movement can be for children. The students take part in a special project as part of the “Tut gut!” initiative was launched. They are supervised by trainer Andrea Frühwirth and learn how they can specifically promote themselves through various exercises and movements.

In the last few weeks, the children have been introduced to different devices through varied movement units. This is not only intended to increase their physical fitness, but also to train important skills such as balance. There are also exciting memory games and relaxation techniques that help students develop a healthy balance between tension and relaxation. Such skills are particularly valuable in giving children a better body image and more self-confidence.

Parent-child afternoon as a special highlight

A highlight of the program was a specially organized parent-child afternoon. Here parents had the opportunity to actively participate and try out the movement exercises they had learned together with their children. This interaction not only promoted the bond between parents and children, but also increased awareness of the importance of exercise in everyday life. “It was a lot of fun for everyone involved,” said one mother who took part in the afternoon.

In addition, further training for the school's teachers is planned for next January. The aim of this training is to further strengthen the teaching staff's skills in promoting physical activity. This measure is intended to ensure that teachers have the knowledge and skills to continue offering health-promoting exercise projects in the future.

The “Active Class” initiative makes it clear that physical activity and conscious movement are important not only for the students, but also for the entire school community. The involvement of parents is also part of the concept, which aims to promote long-term health. More details about the activities and content can be found in a detailed report on www.noen.at.
