Hollerbrunner HTL: Double success at Cyber Security Challenge 2024

The HTL Hollabrunn achieved impressive results at this year's Austria Cyber Security Challenge 2024. The teacher of network technology and IT security, Günter Ebermann, and his student Adrian Zeitlberger showed remarkable achievements in their competitions.

In a rather unusual qualification round that took place over three weeks, the participants had to solve tricky Capture-the flag tasks in order to qualify for the grand finale in Vienna. Ebermann and Zeitlberger showed a strong performance.

Ebermann was able to win the title of the state champion in the official category, while Zeitlberger took second place in the junior group. The Austria Cyber Security Challenge is a competition in which young talents in three age groups demonstrate their skills in ethical hopping. The initiative is supported by the Federal Chancellery, the Ministry of the Interior and the Federal Armed Forces. The competition offers young hackers a platform to make contacts and exchange ideas with like -minded and experienced mentors.

The success of Ebermann and Zeitlberger is the result of hard work and commitment. Ebermann has already announced that he will use his knowledge and experience in the training of his students even more intensely. The recognition of their achievements in this competition illustrates the importance of cybersecurity training in Austria and the need to promote young talents.
