Schwäbisch Gmünd looks back on a happy time: The summer playground in front of the town hall, which has been a popular contact point for children in the past 14 weeks, goes into the well -deserved winter break on Monday, October 7th. This oasis of the game has developed into an integral part of the city center in the warm months and enthusiastically.

Touristics and Marketing GmbH work for the design of the square in close cooperation with the city's garden and cemetery office. Various exciting play equipment was set up over the season, including a tower, a slide, a nest swing and a sand play area. The flexible raised beds have also been very well received. With a wistful look, not only the children, but also those responsible, say goodbye to this year's facility. The play equipment comes from the Proludic company from the Fils and will not be lost even after the square was closed.

New location for play equipment

The entire play equipment distribution takes place to different locations within the city. The sand play area, together with the nest swing and the play equipment with a slide, moves into the new playground in Buchstrasse. The popular device with the tower finds its new roots in Schloßbühlweg on the Rechberg, where it is supplemented by a suspension bridge. This redistribution of the devices continues to offer children games and fun in other places in Schwäbisch Gmünd during the cold months.

In recent years, more than 70 play equipment has been set up on the sand playground in front of the town hall, which shows how much this facility is estimated. The play equipment used during the summer are then housed in various kindergartens, daycare centers and in public playgrounds. An official message from the town hall honors the use of Benedikt Stegmaier and his team from the construction company, which have worked with a lot of commitment both in building the sand landscape and upcoming dismantling.

With the closure of the summer playground, a lively season comes to an end. But the anticipation for the return next year remains. The city of Schwäbisch Gmünd plans to continue to create exciting play opportunities for the small citizens and thus keep the city center attractive to families.
