Fire drama in Pfaffenschlag: 95 firefighters save residential building!

On April 13, 2025, a fire broke out in a family home in Pfaffenschlag near Waidhofen an der Thaya, Lower Austria. The rapid reaction of the residents made it easier for timely evacuation, so luckily there were no injuries. A total of 95 firefighters from several local fire departments were mobilized to combat the fire. When it arrived, part of the building was already in full fire, and the flames hit the sky meter high.

The firefighters had to get a gas bottle out of the building, which required additional safety measures. All first aiders finally managed to control the fire. During the extinguishing work, federal road 5 was completely closed to ensure a safe environment for the emergency services. The incident was updated at 3:11 p.m. and once again demonstrated the need for quick action and effective fire service operations.
