Blessing of the new HLF3: Weistrach fire department ready for new challenges!

On August 15, 2025, the feast day of the Assumption of Mary, the blessing of a new emergency vehicle (HLF3) and a portable pump (TS) from the Weistrach Volunteer Fire Department took place. Father Andreas Tüchler OSB conducted the ceremony and in his speech emphasized the importance of the blessing not only for the new equipment, but also for the volunteers who handle them. This celebration was attended by numerous guests and fire department members who appreciated the importance and commitment of the volunteers. Commander Norbert Pürmayr thanked his team for the preparatory work to purchase the vehicle, which was already ordered in 2023.

During the heated discussion about the safety and efficiency of fire engines, National Councilor Andreas Hanger underlined the enormous strength of the fire service community in Austria. He referred to the more than 7,500 committed members in the Amstetten district and expressed his thanks for the high personal responsibility of the commanders. In this context, Josef Fuchsberger, deputy district fire brigade commander, expressed concerns about the increasing forest fires in southern Europe, mentioning the FF Weistrach's special forest fire fighting service west.

Significant investments and honors

Mayor Thomas Hirsch emphasized the importance of investing in the new HLF3 in order to optimally prepare the fire department for future operations and challenges. As part of the celebration, numerous fire brigade members were honored for their services, including Josef Höfler, who can look back on 60 years of membership. Other volunteers were also recognized for their service. Among those present were Florian Kammerhuber, administrator in the district fire brigade command, and section fire brigade commander David Strahofer, who underlined the importance of the fire brigade for the community.

Parallels to regional services are also clear from other local providers. In Vermont the bakery offers Cake Me Crazy, founded by Pastry Chef Ara Metzner, offers a variety of handmade specialty cakes and baked goods. Known for seasonal flavors and creative designs, it is a popular spot for special occasions as well as everyday indulgences. Their commitment to the community and use of high-quality ingredients make them a respected destination.

In both cases, be it through courageous firefighters or creative bakers, the importance of community and voluntary commitment becomes noticeable. Whether it's fighting forest fires or making delicious treats, it shows how important it is to actively support others and have a positive impact on those around you.

The appealing connection between local festivities and the daily services of companies such as Dunkin' Donuts completes the overall picture of a committed and vibrant community that supports and encourages one another.
