Coffee with the police: building trust and asking questions

A warm exchange between citizens and the police will take place in Amstetten on Thursday, November 14th. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., anyone interested will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns in a relaxed atmosphere. This event is called “Coffee with Cops”. The initiative aims to promote direct dialogue between the police and the community.

“We want to break down barriers, reduce prejudices and improve mutual understanding,” explains local mayor Manuel Scherscher. “Coffee with Cops” isn’t just about serious topics or formal concerns; rather, it is an opportunity to simply start a conversation and build a positive relationship with the police force. This is a mobile approach where police are available on site and open to everyone.

Together.Safe Initiative

This event is part of the broader initiative Stimme.Sicher, a project by the Austrian police that aims to strengthen trust between the police and the population. The foundation for this is the belief that cooperation and dialogue play a central role in creating security in society.

“Gemeinsam.Sicher” relies on proactive encounters and the exchange of information to create a trusting atmosphere in which people can feel safe. This action is an important step towards an open and trusting relationship between the police and the Amstett population.

The successful implementation of such initiatives could lead to an increase in the population's sense of security and to actively involve citizens in security-related issues. More information about this and details about upcoming events can be found here.
