Amstetten shines until 2025: switch to modern LED lighting
In Amstetten, an important project for retrofitting the street lighting is promoted. As part of a project that is to be completed by the end of 2025, conventional lighting will be converted to modern LED technology throughout the community. The first section in Preinbach has now been completed.
A total of several dozen light points have already been converted into Preinbach. "Some of the old lanterns were in action for decades, and the citizens really expressed the desire to improve the lighting. The new LEDs significantly increase the lighting quality," explains Andreas Gruber, VP Mayor of Preinbach.
collaboration with municipal utilities and experts
The implementation of this project is carried out in cooperation with the Amstetten Stadtwerke and the Landsteiner company. Thomas Landsteiner, managing director of the electrical installation company, is positive about the cooperation: "We are pleased to be able to carry out this important project for the community."
Andreas Novak, the department head for electrical installation at the Amstetten municipal utility, emphasizes the advantages of the new technology: “LEDs are not only more efficient, but also more sustainable. They offer brightly bright and targeted light and also contribute to reducing light emissions.
future plans and environmental protection
The project is not limited to Preinbach; The retrofitting also started in the wall and other districts. Mayor Christian Haberhauer informs that over 5,000 light points in the municipal area should be modernized by the end of 2025. "The switch to LED technology not only increases traffic safety, but also improves the subjective feeling of security of the citizens. At the same time, we save energy and reduce light emissions," continues Haberhauer.
Overall, the advantages of the new street lighting are significant: With savings in the electricity consumption of around 60 %, the new technology is considered far more sustainable and environmentally friendly, Vice mayor Dominic Hörlezeder from the Greens also reported. The maintenance intensity is reduced and the longevity of the new lights is another positive aspect.
The project for conversion to LED road lighting thus represents an important step towards more environmentally friendly and safe urban development. For more information about such developments in the region, see the report on www.tips.at .
