Martin Thür on maternity leave: Who will moderate ZiB 2”?
Excitement on ORF: News anchor Martin Thür is taking a long break until October to look after his offspring. Thür himself announced this very briefly, causing some speculation about the reasons for his absence. The “Krone” reports that the popular presenter, who has shaped “ZiB 2” for years, will no longer be seen in front of the camera, while Marie-Claire Zimmermann and Stefan Lenglinger will take care of his tasks.
The “ZiB 2” moderator team remains in top-class hands: Zimmerman, who helped out during Margit Laufer’s maternity leave in 2022 and is currently moderating the “Report”, and Lenglinger, who most recently presented the short versions of “ZIB” and was already represented in “ZiB 2” in the summer of 2024, will take over moderation until Thür’s return. ORF editor-in-chief Johannes Bruckenberger is confident that “Marie-Claire Zimmermann and Stefan Lenglinger” are at the absolute top of their profession. “Together with Armin Wolf and Margit Laufer, the 'ZiB 2' is also excellently positioned for the coming months,” added Bruckenberger when he commented on this change, as well as the Small newspaper reported.
The ORF will continue to be represented by familiar faces and experienced presenters while Thür enjoys his private time out. The public can look forward to seeing what the coming months will bring in “ZiB 2” until the experienced news presenter returns in October and enriches viewers with his presence again. Preparations for the handover of its agendas have already begun and the interests of the viewers are at the forefront.
