Linz in festival fever: Lido Sounds and Ahoy! inspire 2025!
Two top-class festivals have been announced in Linz for the summer of 2024. “Lido Sounds”, a popular music festival, will take place from June 27th to 29th, 2024 in the Urfahrmarkt area. Since its premiere in 2023, the festival has attracted up to 30,000 fans per day. Performances by acts such as AnnenMayKantereit, Justice and RAF Camora are planned for the upcoming event. The festival has become a fixture in the Austrian music scene and replaces the Ahoi! Pop festival, which used to take place in Donaupark, to the surprise of many as an unexpected competitor to “Lido Sounds”.
The first “Lido Sounds” festival in 2023 set new standards in the region, with main acts such as Peter Fox, Beatsteaks, Wanda and Die Toten Hosen performing at their only concert in Austria. Organizer Filip Potocki from Arcadia live and the partners LIVA (Linz) and FM4 attach great importance to high quality, regionality and a special experience for visitors. The aim is to offer guests a festival without unpleasant surprises, such as the dreaded mud. The first step here is the well thought-out admission prices:
- Ein-Tages-Pass: ab 109,50 Euro
- Zwei-Tages-Pass: ab 189,50 Euro
- Drei-Tages-Pass: 219,50 Euro
- Drei-Tages-„Comfort-Pass“: 329,50 Euro (inkl. Fast Lane und Getränke)
Festival diversity in Linz
In addition to “Lido Sounds”, the “Ahoi” festival will also provide additional hustle and bustle in Linz. It is expected that the “Ahoi” festival could have a major impact on the number of visitors to the “Lido Sounds”. Both festivals not only compete for the attention of music lovers, but also for the attention of tourists and culture enthusiasts who appreciate the city's musical offerings.
The cultural landscape in Austria is diverse, which is impressively confirmed by statistics on theater and music. Annual, primary statistical surveys without an obligation to provide information as well as valuable data from the annual reports of the Austrian Federal Theaters and from the collecting society of authors, composers and music publishers (AKM) contribute to the further development and planning of such festivals. These statistics illustrate the importance of live music events and festivals in the Austrian cultural scene.
The increasing interest and the important role of music festivals in Linz are reflected in the current event numbers. The combination of high-quality acts, an attractive location and a clear concept makes these events an unforgettable experience for visitors and an important part of the country's cultural identity.
