Villach in focus: The ORF Long Night of Museums on October 5th
The ORF Long Night of Museums will be celebrated in Villach on October 5th, and the city offers an exciting and varied program. Venues such as the Museum of the City of Villach, the Dinzlschloss and the Galerie Freihausgasse present exciting performances and exhibitions to welcome visitors. "The cultural city of Villach is using this opportunity to show itself. There is an attractive accompanying program for all ongoing exhibitions that will surprise even die-hard museum visitors," explained cultural officer and deputy mayor Gerda Sandriesser.
A special highlight is the creative children's program, which is offered both in the Freihausgasse gallery and in the city's museum. A band provides musical entertainment in the Dinzl Castle. One of the cultural advisor's concerns is the artistic intervention of “Demedarts”, a research group at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. They will use the “Archive of Confusion” in the Dinzl Castle, the museum and the Freihausgasse Gallery to draw attention to the important topic of dementia. “We want to raise awareness of dementia and at the same time offer lectures and information evenings,” Sandriesser continued.
