The Advent season starts in a few days, and the anticipation of the festive time is growing in the Villach region. The time has come on December 1st, because then the numerous advent markets open their doors. The start of the Villacher Advent, which was officially opened on November 15, was already the start. Among other things, city priest Richard Pirker, Mayor Günther Albel (SPÖ) and singer Sandra Pires took part in this ceremony. A children's choir and city marketing rounded off the program and created an inviting atmosphere.

The Villacher Advent has a multi -layered program for the coming weeks. In particular, the Christkindlpostamt, which is organized by the Kleine Zeitung, attracts many visitors. In addition to festive stands and culinary delights from the region, guests also expect traditional customs and events. The highlight of the Advent events will be set on Friday, November 29, with the traditional Perchten run. About 50 groups with around 1000 perch and Krampusen are expected that move through the streets and offer a unique visual experience.
