The redesign of Hörzendorfer See is bringing a breath of fresh air to the region. Cars used to roar along the bank, but now the newly designed leisure area offers space for recreation and relaxation. The renovations have not only changed the landscape, but have also significantly improved traffic safety. Leopold Krassnig, the initiator of the project, says that the project was launched several years ago and has now been successfully completed.

A central aspect of the renovation was the relocation of the state road, which created space for a new playground and an inviting lakeside terrace. There are 48 seats available on the terrace - perfect for enjoying the view of the lake. Thomas Kraut mentions that a kiosk has also been set up that will provide food in both summer and winter. Furthermore, the changing rooms and toilets have been modernized, which significantly increases the comfort for visitors.

Public accessibility and environmental awareness

Despite all the innovations, public access to the lake remains. The natural design also has a positive impact on water quality, which has resulted in a 50 percent improvement in visibility depth. Fishing at the lake continues undisturbed. The entire project was supported by the city, the state and more than 30 companies involved, for which Krassnig expressed his thanks.

The official acceptance of the new facilities recently took place by the responsible authorities, and Hörzendorfer See is now ready to receive visitors. This redesign not only represents a benefit for leisure activities, but also sets an example for greater environmental awareness in the region.—
