Including measures for Carinthia's police: one step into the future
In a pioneering step, the Carinthia police launched a comprehensive program to promote accessibility. The aim is to create a more inclusive environment for all citizens. As part of this project, 52 measures and recommendations were formulated, which are intended to improve the accessibility of police services. This also includes the training of 16 inclusion officers and sign language courses for the civil servants.
The first steps such as structural adjustments and technical improvements have been realized. External partners, such as the Austrian Disabled Council and Caritas, have brought valuable expertise into the project. Michaela Kohlweiß, the project manager, highlights the police mission: "The police stand for help, protection and respect - for everyone."
a model for all of Austria
The results of the Carinthian pilot project are so convincing that they should be extended to all police stations in the country. Brigadier Marius Gaustterer described this advance as an important contribution to a more inclusive society. The implementation of such programs is not only progress for the police, but also a sign of the commitment to promote the well -being of all citizens.
The sensitization to accessibility in the police structures and the ongoing improvement of corresponding services show that the topic is not only theoretically but also practically tackled. The focus on the training and the awareness of the employees should lead to the creation of a more ecological, more human and legally protected environment in the long term.
