The New Year's concerts in Feldkirchen have become an integral part of the regional culture and are enjoying growing popularity. This year the concerts will take place on Sunday, January 5th at 8:00 p.m. and Monday, January 6th at 4:00 p.m.
A special honor will take place especially in 2025, as the famous composer Johann Strauß Sohn would celebrate his 200th birthday. On this occasion, the Johann Strauß Ensemble of the Stadtkapelle Feldkirchen has decided to dedicate the New Year's concerts to this great musician. “Strauss’ music reaches people’s hearts,” explained Kapellmeister Michael Uhr, who leads the ensemble.
Program and performances
The concert program will be a mix of well-known operetta melodies and lively waltzes and polkas by Johann Strauss. In the first part of the evening, the audience will be entertained with the overture and the most famous hits from the Strauss operetta “Die Fledermaus”. The title of the piece, “Happy is he who forgets…” reflects the cheerful spirit of these works.
Soloists such as soprano Goulnara Norkina and tenor Klemen Val Mihelčič will artfully bring the musical highlights to life. “Our soloists bring the emotion evoked by this great music to the stage,” Uhr added.
The concerts take place in collaboration with the kultur-forum-amthof and the city of Feldkirchen. Mayor Martin Treffner will be present on the first evening, while family speaker Andrea Pecile will accompany the event on Monday.
