Karl Krobath was born on February 10, 1875 in Oberferlach, Carinthia, and died in Vienna on December 30, 1916. His life's work spans a variety of genres: as a teacher, writer and composer, he has shaped the cultural heritage of Carinthia. From 1890 to 1894, Krobath attended the teacher training center in Klagenfurt before studying law in Zurich. His teaching activities led him to various schools in Carinthia and beyond.

His literary works include novella, stories and poems, whereby he dealt intensively with Carinthian folk customs and the dialect. biographien.at leads an overview of some of his most remarkable works, including "The Holy Elisabeth, Landgfn. Von Thuringia" and "The man with the two hearts".

Krobath was not only committed literarily, but also an important personality of Carinthian tourism. His art brought him into contact with greats like Peter Rosegger and Thomas Koschat, and he contributed to the literature of his time with numerous articles in newspapers.
