Israel's air force increases attacks: chaos after Assad's fall in Syria!

The situation in Syria is deteriorating dramatically as the Israeli Air Force has increased its attacks on military targets in the country. According to reports from the Crown newspaper Up to 40 attacks were recorded on Saturday night, hitting, among other things, a weapons depot and a military airport in the Qalamun region, about 90 kilometers north of Damascus. These offensive measures by the Israeli Defense Forces are aimed at preventing the Syrian Army's military equipment from falling into the hands of extremists, while the Israeli Army has generally not issued any statements on the recent incidents. The attacks come at a critical moment as the Syrian opposition has now gained a foothold in the capital Damascus.

Rebellion in Damascus

On December 7, 2024, Syrian rebel groups reported that they had begun an advance into the Rif Dimashq region and had approached within 20 kilometers of the capital Damascus. This happened at the same time as government troops withdrew from several suburbs, which further encouraged the rebel units' offensive. Loud Wikipedia

Consequently, on December 8, it was reported that the rebels had taken control of Damascus, while President Bashar al-Assad reportedly fled towards Moscow. As a result, there were looting riots in the government district, and many monuments and government buildings were attacked. A 13-hour curfew was also imposed in the capital. In light of these uneasy developments, the international community also called for review and support of the new government, which is ready to protect and restore the rights of all Syrians.
