Hauser defends 13th place: missed top ten by seconds!
Oberhof, Deutschland - In Oberhof yesterday an exciting biathlon purity race took place, in which Tyrolean Lisa Hauser landed again in 13th place. Despite her efforts to improve in the 10 km race, Hauser remained behind the winner Lou JeanMonnot due to two misconceptions and a gap of 1: 16.6 minutes. The French celebrated her third victory this season, followed by Norwegian Maren Kirkeeide and Swede Elvira Öberg, who were each with a false shot, such as the Kleine Zeitung reported.
Hauser was still satisfied and explained: "I defended the 13th place and that's really cool." Her goal was to make up for a few places, but a missed shot in the last section prevented a top ten placement that she missed by about seven seconds. The men's ranking was dominated by Sturla Holm Laegreid from Norway, who, despite two misconceptions at the finish, finished 5.2 seconds before his compatriot Tarjei Bö. The competition was less successful for the Austrians: Simon Eder got out after a fall, and Felix Leitner finished the race as the best Austrian in 41st place, informs the Krone .
The biathlon season continues and is being pursued with excitement while the athletes are working towards the next challenges. Hauser will try to increase their performance in the upcoming competitions and to make the longed -for progress in the overall ranking.
