Golden Pagers and Explosions: Israel's Secret War Strategy Revealed!
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented US President Donald Trump with a golden pager during his recent visit to Washington. This symbolic gift refers to the devastating explosions in Lebanon on September 17, 2023, which detonated hundreds of pro-Iran Hezbollah pagers. According to Netanyahu's office, this gift represents "a turning point in the war" after the surprise attack claimed a total of 39 lives and injured thousands more oe24 reported.
The explosion occurred in response to continued shelling by Hezbollah and resulted in an unimaginable 2,800 injuries, while the exact death toll remains in question. Lebanon's Health Ministry said many of the injured were wearing civilian clothes, making it difficult to identify Hezbollah members. Iran and Hezbollah blame Israel for the explosive attack. There is speculation that Israeli agents tampered with the pagers and rigged them with explosives before smuggling them into Lebanon. Official statements from Israel are still pending LTO reported. Prof. Dr. Matthias Goldmann emphasized in the interview that the case is complex under international law and that a clear distinction between combatants and civilians is necessary in order to assess possible violations of international humanitarian law.
The situation between Israel and Hezbollah has worsened since the incident. There have been violent military conflicts in the past, and the challenges of identifying combatants in an ever-changing field of conflict are enormous. Whether Hezbollah is viewed as part of the Lebanese state or as a separate, non-governmental organization has important legal implications and influences international perceptions of the conflict. Goldmann argues that if Israel is found responsible for the explosions, there could be serious legal consequences, including possible reparations obligations.
