A 78-year-old saves himself from an ice accident on Lake Weissensee when his vehicle collapses. Salvage takes place on February 15th.
Ice accident at Weißensee: 78-year-old narrowly escapes the water!
On February 14, 2025, a 78-year-old man was working at Weißensee to clear snow from the ice skating rinks. He used a specially designed ice vehicle with a snow blade. Suddenly the ice gave way and the vehicle began to sink. The driver was able to save himself in time before the vehicle sank around two to three meters deep in the water of the lake. Fortunately, the 78-year-old remained uninjured Dolomite town as well as MyDistrict reported.
The snow blade, which was mounted on the front of the ice vehicle, prevented the vehicle from completely sinking. This turned out to be a decisive stroke of luck, because even though the vehicle suffered significant damage, it was salvaged without any injuries. The rescue operation is scheduled for February 15th. Emergency crews are already on site to ensure the ice and vehicle are properly inspected before further action is taken.
