ÖVP Burgenland: Brave changes for the state election 2025
The ÖVP Burgenland recently presented its election program for the upcoming state election. Party chief and top candidate Christian Sagartz presented the central ideas at an event in the community center Antau. He emphasized the urgency of the directional decision for Burgenland and asked whether one would like to continue to pursue the previous course or to change radically. The elections take place on January 19, 2025.
The event attracted numerous guests from the various regions of Burgenland. In his execution, Sagartz emphasized that the future of Burgenland should be based on a cooperative approach. He called for a “together instead of against each other” and campaigned for regional decisions that take more attention to the needs of the citizens.
the pension thousands of
A central element of the election program is the so-called preventive thousand. Sagartz pointed out the fact that the average life expectancy in Burgenland remains behind other Austrian federal states. In order to counteract this, a Burgenland preventive passport will be introduced in the future. This is intended to help the citizens to use regular examinations, similar to the well-known parent-child pass.
affordable living and building land tax
Another important point of the program concerns the topic of "affordable living". Sagartz announced the abolition of building land tax to facilitate the way to home. Instead, the ÖVP wants to promote the creation of property. The measures include the immediate repayment of residential grants to non-profit residential builders, the doubling of housing funding for private builders and the introduction of a youth bonus of 10,000 euros for young people who want to acquire their first apartment.
In addition, the party wants to reduce construction requirements and introduce a local core bonus to support the revitalization of local nuclei. These initiatives should help to make living space more affordable for the population.
business funds and more freedom of choice in care
The election program also provides for the establishment of business funds, which are to be financed by reducing the state holding company. Sagartz is convinced that this would release significant means. He sees the country's influence on certain areas, such as the power grid, particularly critically. Here he advocates that the country acts cautiously and does not compete with the private sector. The promotion of domestic and medium-sized companies should be facilitated so that they can better access funding.
In the area of care, the ÖVP is committed to more freedom of choice for citizens. In the future, the senior citizens should be able to determine who they want to be cared for by. For this purpose, a diverse range of mobile home nursing is to be created that supports the existing organizations. In addition, more apprenticeships for nursing professions and an upgrading of the nursing profession are planned. Relief for people in need of care should also be part of the program.
community package and financial support
Sagartz announced a new community package for the municipalities to abolish the existing state levy. After a financial overview at the state level, he promises to set up a new funding program for floor sealing. This program is intended to help the municipalities to stabilize their financial basis and to develop solutions together.
The ideas presented reflect on the wish of the ÖVP to create sustainable future prospects in Burgenland and to offer the citizens a new direction. This development would not only increase the quality of life, but also strengthen the economic balance in the region.
