The Union Shotokan Karate Do Oberpullendorf celebrated impressive successes at the 26th SKIAF Children's and Youth Cup in Linz. The athletes traveled to Linz with a strong delegation of 15 young karatekas and returned with a great result: nine gold and five silver medals in a total of 11 out of 14 categories. This resulted in the club finishing first in the medal table.
Inas Hercegovac stands out among the outstanding achievements. She secured first place in the Kata Youth A category and in the Kumite Youth category and also achieved silver with the Kata Team Youth. Dominik Moser shone in the Kata Boys A category and also in the Kumite Boys, where he won gold. Together with Mock Manuel, Prohaska Sophia and Prohaska Elias, he also took second place in the children's kata team.
Excellent performances by the young karatekas
Manuel Mock was also successful and won two gold medals: one in the category of kata boys up to 14 years and another with the kata team children. Elias Prohaska prevailed in the Kata Boys C category and won gold, while Clemens Moser won the silver medal in the same category. They also contributed to the success of the children's kata team.
The club's girls also performed excellently. Magdalena Pastorek won gold in the Kata Youth Female B category and was ahead of her club colleague Celina Mock, who secured the silver medal. Together with Inas Hercegovac they achieved silver in the youth kata team. Isabell Pastorek won the Kata Girls B category, followed by Sophia Prohaska, who also won a medal. In the children's kata team, she and her teammates secured another silver medal.
Some karatekas took part in such a big competition for the first time and were able to achieve good placements despite being nervous.
