Parador publishes current sustainability report 2024
In the spirit of sustainability, Parador GmbH, based in Coesfeld, has published its current sustainability report for 2024. This report represents the latest, third updated version and provides a comprehensive overview of the company's various sustainability measures over the past fiscal year.
Parador divides its report into three central areas: ecology, economy and society. This provides a detailed insight into the efforts the company is making to improve its environmental performance. The report uses a combination of text, clear infographics and tables to clearly show the progress and successes across the entire value chain.
Overview of the sustainability goals
A central goal of Parador is to achieve climate-neutral production at the locations in Coesfeld and Güssing by the end of 2025. The company has already made significant progress with an impressive 80 percent reduction in its carbon footprint since 2020. In order to further reduce the remaining 20 percent, various measures were put in place. A notable 2024 project includes a fleet management review and a survey of employee commuting behavior. The knowledge gained should contribute to improving the CO2 balance in the coming year.
Another important aspect of sustainability management is the circular economy. Last year, internal workshops took place with the management as well as the product development, product management and production departments. One result of these meetings is a pilot project to take back finished parquet. The aim is to establish a process that will introduce recycling measures in the near future. The topic of “circular design” in particular plays a central role in product development, so that future products should be increasingly designed for circularity.
Transparency towards customers is also a focus of Parador. The company has dealt intensively with the declaration of its products. Both Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Health Product Declarations (HPDs) are provided for all floor coverings, providing users with detailed information about the emissions and ingredients of the products.
The report published by Parador follows the global standards of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) and also takes into account the criteria of the German Sustainability Code (DNK). By complying with these standards, the company undertakes to document its activities transparently and comprehensively in accordance with international standards for sustainability reporting. This not only serves to provide information, but also to ensure effective sustainability management.
Parador can look back on a long tradition of sustainability reporting. Since 2016, an environmental statement has been prepared annually as part of EMAS certification. The first comprehensive sustainability report was also published in autumn 2022.
For those interested, the detailed 2024 sustainability report, which includes more than 70 pages, is available on the official website Parador website available.
