Flexible BAST saves career dreams: Southern Burgenlander on track thanks to AK Burgenland
A young woman from southern Burgenland is about to start her professional life, but the path to an apprenticeship was anything but easy. A lack of public transport almost ruined their dream. Luckily, the Burgenland Chamber of Labor was able to act quickly and find a suitable solution with BAST so that the training can begin.
The young woman from the Güssing district showed how flexible mobility solutions can make the difference. Despite a promising apprenticeship request at Lenzing in Heiligenkreuz, there was a lack of a consistent connection to the training location. The limited timetables made using public transport almost impossible. The single mother tried to find a solution, but she also couldn't take her daughter to work every day.
Thanks to the intervention of the Chamber of Labor, mobility expert Ines Lukic-Zjajo contacted the Burgenland transport company and managed to get the VBB to allow the young woman to use the BAST. This gets you to work safely and offers a reliable transport option.
BAST's flexible mobility solution in Burgenland enables young people to pursue their professional goals. With the call-share taxi, passengers are served on demand, which is particularly advantageous in rural areas.
The AK Burgenland is acting decisively to ensure that young people like this student have training opportunities. The initiative shows that coordinated action can overcome mobility barriers and open up a promising professional future for young people.
