It is particularly noteworthy that the purchasing power in Burgenland is now about five percent above the average value in Austria. The purchasing power is only higher in Lower Austria.

The study illuminates that purchasing power in a federal state results from various factors such as the actual income, the price level and consumer behavior. In this context, it is also pointed out that life in Burgenland is relatively cheap compared to other federal states. As a result, the income in Burgenland has increased significantly in recent decades.
