Brooke Shields: Fabulous at 59 and confident in her old age!

Iconic actress Brooke Shields, more in the spotlight than ever at 59, is determined to fight the pressures of youthful beauty ideals. In an interview with HELLO! magazine, she explained that she has entered a new age in which the pursuit of beauty is no longer the focus. “It’s no longer about chasing beauty,” Shields emphasized. She has learned to accept her body and notes that she now judges herself less than she did when she was younger. She describes this feeling as “liberating” – she “deserves every line on [her] face.” Shields has freed herself from the compulsion to constantly compare herself to others and feels capable of recognizing her own worth, regardless of societal expectations.

In this new phase of her life, Shields has even launched her own online community aimed at women over 40. Her platform, Beginning Is Now, encourages women to share their own experiences with aging and develop new perspectives on beauty and self-worth. She explained on US talk show Today with Hoda & Jenna that many middle-aged women often feel excluded, especially in the entertainment industry. Still, the actress feels “more fabulous than ever.” She is also developing her own beauty brand called Commence, inspired by the many questions from her fans about care and beauty products. Her experiences with aging, such as the loss of youth and changes in appearance, lead her to share her perspective on aging with other women.

A new look at beauty

Shields' initiative goes beyond personal well-being and also touches on issues such as financial independence. Her mother had taught her that beauty was her path to financial security. With her brand, she plans to launch more products to strengthen women not only externally but also internally. She understands that aging is an inevitable part of life and speaks openly about her own challenges, such as the fact that she is in an identity phase as her daughters fledge. Shields believes she is "more than people give me credit for" and that aging does not rob her of her identity, but rather encourages her to find herself - "a woman, and a human being."

Their words and actions speak to many and show that old age cannot be the end, but a new beginning. As The New York Times reported, Shields is not just about personal transformation, but also about inspiring a generation of women who find themselves in the shadow of impermanence. This powerful message could be a source of hope and encouragement for many to accept and develop themselves.
