Starting tomorrow: 8 million euros for photovoltaics and a Made-in-Europe” bonus!

From October 8, 2025, funding for photovoltaic systems (PV systems) can be applied for in Austria again. This third round of funding aims to support both new systems and the expansion of existing systems. The focus is particularly on electricity storage capabilities, which, however, are only supported in conjunction with a PV system. According to [5min](https://www.5min.at/oesterreich/5202510071942/ab-morgen-diese-foerderung-in-oesterreich-kann-bewerbungt- Werden/), another incentive is the “Made-in-Europe” bonus, which offers an additional 10% funding if European components such as photovoltaic modules and inverters are used.

Economics Minister Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer emphasizes that these measures are intended not only to strengthen domestic industry, but also to create jobs. Given the growing importance of storage technologies, their promotion is seen as essential for the stability of the electricity grid. In the second round of funding, for example, the number of applications for storage rose from 5,200 to around 8,800, which illustrates the great need in this area.

Important deadlines and amounts

The ticket drawing for early submission of funding applications begins on October 8, 2025 at 5 p.m. The actual project applications can finally be submitted from October 9, 2025, at 8 a.m. The deadline for the third funding call ends on October 22, 2025. In this round, a total of eight million euros are available, which will be distributed among the applicants. For example, almost every second project that uses a European inverter can benefit from the bonus, as heute reports.

Applicants of the second call have the opportunity to catch up on the “Made in Europe” bonus by October 22, 2025, provided the system has not yet been put into operation. The components must also come from the “white lists” of the EAG processing center in order to reserve the bonus. The number of applications and the associated capacity show that interest in this funding remains unbroken.

Additional funding and regulations

In addition to the subsidies for PV systems, there are also other measures for climate-friendly investments in Austria. According to oesterreich.gv.at, state funding is also available for renovations and heating replacements that are aimed at environmentally friendly technologies.

An important regulation concerns the zero tax rate on the delivery and installation of photovoltaic systems. This generally ends on March 31, 2025, but remains valid until December 31, 2025, provided contracts are concluded before March 7, 2025. However, funding is only possible if the systems meet the necessary requirements for sales tax exemption in accordance with current legal requirements.

The coming weeks promise an exciting time for everyone interested in renewable energies. With the prospect of financial support and a clear focus on European products, the Austrian government is not only strengthening its own economy, but is also actively contributing to climate protection.
