Mathematics meet art: chaos, algorithms and creative visions in Zülpich!

Kölnstraße 28, 53879 Zülpich, Deutschland - On January 11, 2025, the Zülpich Art Forum opens the exciting exhibition "Chaos, Art and Algorithms - of Spacot periods, periods and intermediate worlds", which will be shown until January 25, 2025. In this exhibition, the mathematician and artist Siegfried Genreith is presented, who uses mathematical equations to merge art and nature.

The exhibition impressively shows that mathematics is not only an abstract field, but can also be used design and creatively. Visiting the exhibition is free and the Kunstforum Zülpich is always visible through its shop window. Genreith will also be on site on Sundays and Wednesdays between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to interact with the visitors.

The connection of mathematics and art

The close relationship between mathematics and art is also treated in detail in an article on storyysh.de . Historical artists such as Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci already recognized the importance of symmetries and perspective that required geometric considerations and exact constructions. These concepts have been a central theme of mathematics since antiquity.

modern technologies offer new possibilities in this context. Topics such as complex symmetries, symmetom cuisine and self -similarities gain in importance. Graphics convey a feeling of infinity and dynamic development, while the combination of algorithms, photography and computing power incorporates the beauty of mathematics into the artistic expression.
