On October 29, 2025, the Caribbean was hit by a devastating hurricane that left immense destruction in Jamaica and Cuba. More than 735,000 people had to be evacuated from their residential areas. Around 7 million people are affected by the consequences of the hurricane. The Red Cross is active on the ground and has mobilized 400 volunteers in Jamaica to assist with the evacuations.
