Veronika Aigner triumphs in the chaos of the Para-Ski World Championships!

The best para-ski athletes in the world have demonstrated their skills in the difficult conditions of their championship in recent days. Due to unusually mild temperatures, six races, including the downhill and the combination for women and men, had to be canceled. This reports ORF. Despite the chaos, Veronika Aigner and her sister Elisabeth managed to win gold in the giant slalom. After the first round they were already ahead by almost four seconds and thus secured Veronika's third World Championship medal. Her teammate Elina Stary secured the bronze medal with her guide.

Aigner, who is only 21, is now optimistic about the upcoming slalom races on Tuesday, while her brother Johannes, also a favorite in his category, has his first chance at medals on Sunday. The Aigner sisters are known for their impressive achievements and have already won two gold medals at the Paralympics in Beijing The press reports.

Streif traffic and new challenges

In a special challenge, the sisters tackled the infamous Kitzbühel descent. Veronika, who drives with only eight percent vision, was able to reach speeds of up to 120 km/h. The legendary circuit, considered one of the most difficult in the world, became a testing ground for her incredible talent. The former ski star Benjamin Raich was given glasses that severely restricted his vision in order to see how Veronika was doing. “Driving down there with these glasses was amazing,” said Raich after this unique experience.

The Aigner family, who have already been mentioned in the media for their outstanding achievements, are expecting a goosebumps moment when Veronika crosses the finish line in front of the audience on the Hahnenkamm. The entire ski circuit is excited to see what this remarkable family will achieve in the next race.
