Media speculation names Hummer as a potential successor, which further increases the pressure on the head of the chamber.
In addition to the political tensions, his monthly salary of 28,500 euros was also raised in the public debate. Mahrer made it clear that his salaries are published transparently and that he has no problem with public discussion about it. The Court of Auditors has already announced that it will examine the Chamber of Commerce's multiple salaries and financial management relationships in the first quarter of next year.
