Wernberg shines: Advent market with a visit from St. Nicholas attracts guests!

On Saturday, November 29th, 2025, the traditional Advent market in Wernberg will take place in front of the municipal office. A diverse offering with around 30 exhibitors from the region awaits visitors. They can look forward to regional products, handicrafts and Christmas items. The market opens its doors at 1 p.m. and offers its guests a special experience right from the start.

The official opening of the Advent market will take place at 3:00 p.m. by Mayor Doris Liposchek. The highlights include a free hot drink for guests and a raffle with prizes from the exhibitors. The proceeds from this raffle benefit a social cause in the Wernberg community, making the event not only a place for shopping but also for giving.

Special moments and traditions

The ceremonial blessing of the Christmas tree and the lighting of the lights will take place at 5:00 p.m. This traditional act is followed by a visit from Santa Claus, who, after lighting the lights, distributes small gifts to the children. This tradition is maintained with great enthusiasm in Wernberg and creates a contemplative atmosphere that delights young and old alike.

In addition, the Advent market is accompanied by musical accompaniment by the duo “Kärntner Herzklong”, which further enhances the festive atmosphere. The market aims to provide a communal experience and enjoy the Advent season for both locals and guests.
