Opera Ball 2025: Strauss celebrates with social responsibility!

The Opera Ball 2025 promises to be a spectacular event that is all about Johann Strauss. On February 27th, the highlight of the Vienna ball season, the 200th birthday of the Waltz King will be celebrated with the 67th edition of the Opera Ball. During the opening, almost exclusively works by Strauss will be presented, including the “Csárdás” from “Ritter Pásman” and the well-known waltz “Spring Voices”. Opera director Bogdan Roščić emphasizes that the music selection fits the Opera Ball perfectly. In a special contribution, the Vienna State Ballet under the direction of Martin Schläpfer will perform the new creation of the “Imperial Waltz”.

A sign of social responsibility

This year the Opera Ball will once again send a strong signal for social responsibility. The surcharge of 35 euros per admission ticket and an additional ten percent on the catering sales raise significant amounts for the “Austria helps Austria” organization. This is described by those responsible as “an impressive six-digit number,” as the director explained. The ball is therefore not only a glamorous spectacle, but also an opportunity to do good and support those in need.

The highlights of the opening also include performances by renowned singers such as Nadine Sierra, Juan Diego Flórez, Maria Nazarova and Daniel Jenz, who will musically enchant the audience. With this combination of classical music, dance and social responsibility, the 2025 Opera Ball promises to be an unforgettable experience that upholds the traditions of Viennese culture.
