Magdeburg's cultural hotspot: concerts, comedy and exciting contemporary witnesses!

Magdeburg – On Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, the city will become a pulsating center for culture and entertainment! From rousing concerts to exciting lectures to captivating comedy shows – the program leaves nothing to be desired!

An evening full of highlights

The talented Maria “Mascha” Raykhman aka “Masha The Rich Man” will appear in the Design Forum at 8 p.m. Their melancholic folk-pop sounds, which combine traditional and modern elements, take the audience into a nostalgic world. Masha, who won the Jümid composition competition for contemporary Jewish music in 2022, brings her Jewish-Ukrainian heritage into every note. Experience the magic of their music live!

At the same time, the Berlin comedian Karlitoz will make his audience laugh in the Theater in der Grüne Zitadelle. With his “Karlitoz Show” he shows an almost endless variety of characters and parodies that reflect the colorful atmosphere of his hometown Berlin. Karlitoz has established himself as a social media star and delights his fans with a distinctive sense of humor that also attracts prominent supporters such as Sido and Joko Winterscheidt.

For football fans there is a very special contemporary witness interview in the Saxony-Anhalt State Archives. 50 years after the legendary European Cup game between 1. FC Magdeburg and FC Bayern Munich, former players and fans will talk about their memories. This German-German encounter, which took place on November 6, 1974, is examined from a previously neglected perspective, with the focus on the state surveillance of the GDR.

A variety of events for every taste

The Magdeburg City Library will host an exciting literary discussion with Tobias von Elsner at 5 p.m., who will raise the question of whether the West betrayed the East during reunification. At 7:30 p.m., Ukrainian history professor Oleh Turiy will give a lecture on Ukraine's Soviet past. Other cultural highlights include the monthly poetry slams in the Sternbar and the art exhibition “Pictures without Title” in the university library.

The Gruson greenhouses invite you to a tour of the photo exhibition “The Elbe – Life on the River” at 3 p.m. And not to forget: the “Open Mic Night” at Nachdenker, where creative talents can present their art. Magdeburg, a place full of life and creativity, offers an unforgettable experience on November 6th!
