On Friday morning, May 24, 2025, a brutal incident occurred in Vienna-Penzing Home invasion, in which an 87-year-old pensioner was the victim of an attack. The attack took place at the man's front door on Ameisbachzeile as he was about to leave the house. A previously unknown perpetrator forced him back into the house, beat and kicked him brutally.
The perpetrator, who is around 1.90 meters tall and athletic, was fully masked and wore black clothing. He had previously sneaked into the victim's garden via a neighboring property and waited there until the pensioner wanted to leave his house. The attack resulted in the 87-year-old suffering significant injuries, including multiple hematomas in the head area and what was believed to be a mild concussion.
Escape and harm
Although the perpetrator stole the victim's wallet containing a high three-digit amount of cash, nothing else was stolen from the house. To prevent the pensioner from getting help, the attacker destroyed the victim's cell phone. However, after the perpetrator fled, he managed to use a second cell phone to alert the emergency services.
The emergency services took the 87-year-old to hospital with head injuries and severe shock. He was able to leave the clinic later. The police have taken over the investigation and are asking for any relevant information about the fugitive perpetrator. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office can be reached on 01-31310 with extension 33800.
